In 2021, a group of elephants ventured out of the Xishuangbanna National Nature Reserve in southern Yunnan Province on a northbound expedition that took them all the way to the provincial capital, Kunming, and back again. They attracted worldwide attention and became an internet sensation. But Yunnan is more than its spectacular sceneries, amazing wildlife diversity and harmonious ethnic unity. In this edition of the Forefront, CGTN's Wang Guan sits down with Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Yunnan Provincial Committee Wang Ning to discuss Yunnan's spectacular economic growth and its transition toward high-quality industrial development through entrepreneurship and the new energy sector while protecting the environment. Yunnan has been spearheading new models for farmers and coffee bean and tea growers, leading to a substantial revenue increase and contributing markedly to poverty alleviation. Wang Ning also describes the "Yunnan Way of Life," and by the looks of it, it's nothing short of impressive! Check it out.
