Ireland is experiencing a significant shift toward electric vehicles (EVs). Sales of Chinese-made EVs are surging in response to environmental concerns and the recent cost of living crisis. EVs are proving to be about 50 percent cheaper to run compared with petrol cars. The Irish government's climate action plan aims to put 850,000 EVs on the road by 2030. It's also offering grants of around $4,000 for the purchase of a battery-powered electric vehicle that meets its criteria.
