- Hamas said in a statement that three sons and four grandchildren of Ismail Haniyeh, the chairman of Hamas's political bureau, were killed in an airstrike on Wednesday. Israel confirmed the killings, claiming the sons were "Hamas operatives" who were "on their way to carry out terrorist activities."
- Meanwhile, talks on a Gaza truce deal in Cairo dragged on this week, with Hamas reportedly still considering the latest proposal.
- The United States, Egypt and Qatar have put together a framework for a deal that would include a halt in fighting for six weeks and the exchange of about 40 hostages for hundreds of Palestinian prisoners. It would also see increased humanitarian aid to Gaza and many displaced people returning to their homes.
- Israel will open a new land crossing into the Gaza Strip, designed mainly to facilitate aid deliveries to Palestinians from overseas or neighboring Jordan, Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant said on Wednesday.
