Participating in a variety of folk activities such as the dragon dance, playing the suona – a Chinese brass trumpet-like wind instrument – and Yi ethnic dances, residents from a village in Mile City of southwest China's Yunnan Province performed at a wrestling competition.
The event forms part of their annual dragon-worship festival, which is held to pray for a good harvest and a promising year. Culturally, the Chinese dragon is believed to be a god that is in charge of clouds and rain, thus being able to bring enough water for a bumper harvest.
