The Chinese Embassy in Israel on Friday reminded Chinese nationals to pay close attention to the local security situation amid escalating tensions in the Middle East.

The security environment in Israel is becoming increasingly severe and complicated. Chinese citizens are advised to maintain heightened security awareness, minimize unnecessary outings, steer clear of high-risk areas and sensitive locations and strengthen security precautions, according to the statement.

Several countries, including the U.S., France, India and Russia, have also reminded their citizens to increase their personal security awareness and have issued travel warnings for Israel.
