The 4th China International Consumer Products Expo is underway in Haikou, the capital of south China's Hainan Province. The six-day event is expected to showcase novel and upmarket products for global consumers. Shi Fanqi, assistant professor at the School of Economics at Peking University, shares Hainan is trying to expand its role as a regional trade hub.
