In recent months, Philippine vessels have repeatedly intruded into China's waters and disseminated fake news to smear China. The U.S., not only encouraged the Philippines, but also waded in and accused China. For Washington, the Philippines is a pawn to contain China; for Manila, the old rusty BRP Sierra Madre, which it deliberately ran aground in 1999, is a pawn to occupy Ren'ai Jiao permanently; for the old warship, forced to stay in the waters around Ren'ai Jiao while becoming more rotten day by day, it might not escape its fate of being abandoned.
