Five people were killed and others injured in a knife attack at a shopping center in Sydney, Australia, on Saturday, local police confirmed.
The attack occurred at a Sydney mall before the assailant was shot dead by an armed officer, Assistant Commissioner Anthony Cooke said at a press conference.
Police in Sydney said no clear motive has emerged in relation to the attacker.
