The U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin and Israel's Defense Minister Yoav Gallant held a phone conversation on Saturday over the situation between Israel and Iran, Gallant said in a statement.
During the conversation, Austin asked Gallant to let Washington know beforehand if it plans to carry out a counterattack against Iran, CNN reported, citing a U.S. official.
