UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak confirmed that his country had participated in an "international coordinated effort" to halt Iran's attack on Israel and shot down "a number" of Iranian attack drones, British media reported Monday.
"I can confirm that our planes did shoot down a number of Iranian attack drones," Sunak told broadcasters, adding that the Royal Air Force sent additional planes to the region.
"What we now need is for calm heads to prevail," he continued, adding that the UK will be working with its allies to de-escalate the situation.
