The construction of Millennium City Park located in Kaifeng City, Henan Province, was based on the famous ancient Chinese painting "Along the River During the Qingming Festival," which depicted life during the North Song Dynasty (960-1127). The large-scale historical and cultural park serves as a living replica of the era, presenting its ancient architecture and culture to the modern world.

Opened to the public in 1998, the park covers an area of more than 40 hectares and includes many beautiful scenic spots, such as one of China's ten famous ancient bridges – the Rainbow Bridge – and a mural of the Qingming Festival by the riverside, as well as the Kissing Cloud Pavilion and many other attractions.

The park has embraced modern technology to build a dome theater to showcase Zhang Zeduan's masterpiece "Along the River During the Qingming Festival." Using the latest digital technology, the ancient artwork is presented on a 12-meter-diameter spherical IMAX screen. The entire screen features a panoramic presentation with 3D effects to create an immersive viewing experience for visitors. By simulating climbing, diving, gliding and other movements, the show transports tourists centuries back in time, offering a glimpse of the splendor of the Song Dynasty and an immersive insight into the ancient era depicted in the beloved painting.
