From late March, tourists have been crowding the city of Luoyang in central China's Henan Province to appreciate the blooming peony flowers. The peony originated in China and has been planted for over 1,500 years. It represents opulence, beauty and honor in traditional culture and is hailed as the "monarch of flowers" by Chinese people. Luoyang, China's ancient capital of 13 dynasties, has a long history of cultivating peonies. With more than 1,400 varieties of blooming peony flowers in nine different colors, Luoyang's Peony Culture Festival is expected to attract more than 20 million tourists. Join CGTN's Idah Waringa to explore the China National Flower Garden and find out more.
