Ask China Expats: Taste 2,000-year-old Shandong cuisine with Vietnamese vlogger

CGTN recently launched the "Ask China Expats" campaign, encouraging questions about China from all around the world. Manuela Alves, a resident of Salvador, Brazil, was curious about the daily diet of Chinese people.

In this video, Tieu Thanh, a Vietnamese student studying in Beijing, China, shared her answer to this query. She went to Jinan City, one of the birthplaces of Shandong cuisine, one of the eight major cuisines in China. Traced back to the Spring and Autumn Period (770-221 BC), Shandong cuisine is characterized by its salty, crispy, tender and pure taste, and often features seafood.
