Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi on Thursday met with his Indonesian counterpart Retno Marsudi in Jakarta during an official visit to the country.
Wang, who is also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, said China is ready to work with Indonesia to carry forward their traditional friendship, deepen strategic mutual trust, focus on building a China-Indonesia community with a shared future and implement the action plan on comprehensive strategic partnership, pushing bilateral ties to a new stage of development.
China supports Indonesia in safeguarding national sovereignty and territorial integrity and is willing to continue to firmly support each other's core interests, Wang said.
He urged the two sides to strengthen the synergy of their development strategies and work to upgrade practical cooperation under high-quality Belt and Road cooperation.
China supports its enterprises to invest and do business in Indonesia and stands ready to increase imports of high-quality Indonesian products in line with market demand, Wang said, adding it is hoped that Indonesia will maintain the stability and predictability of its commodity export policy and create a favorable environment for Chinese enterprises.
The Chinese foreign minister also said that China is willing to work closely with Indonesia to promote the high-quality development of China-ASEAN relations, consolidate the ASEAN-led regional architecture, and safeguard peace and stability in the South China Sea.
Retno said the Indonesian government attaches great importance to developing relations with China and firmly adheres to the one-China policy.
Indonesia looks forward to working with China to continuously strengthen the comprehensive strategic partnership, enhance economic and investment cooperation, jointly combat transnational crimes such as telecommunication fraud, and safeguard peace, stability and security in the region, Retno said.
