The Chinese People's Liberation Army has set up a new information support force.
Chinese President Xi Jinping, also general secretary of the Communist Party of China's Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission, attended a ceremony in Beijing on Friday to establish the new force.
Wu Qian, a spokesperson for the Chinese Defense Ministry, said it will be a strategic branch.
