Dazuigu comedy is part of Fujian Province's intangible cultural heritage. The comedic narrative, delivered rhythmically, is conveyed using the local Hokkien dialect. Dazuigu is popular across southern Fujian and Taiwan in China, as well as in parts of Southeast Asia that are home to communities originally from southern Fujian. As a national-level inheritor of the traditional art form of Dazuigu, Yang Minmou works hard to ensure that his art is passed down.
