Bundesliga's giants Bayern Munich will have to find a new manager after the 2023-24 season since the man currently in the position, Thomas Tuchel, will step down after this campaign. It's unclear who is on their candidates list, but Julian Nagelsmann can be removed as he agreed to a contract extension with the German Football Association (DFB) and the men's national team until 2026.

"This is a decision of the heart. It is a great honor to be able to train the national team and work with the best players in the country," Nagelsmann said in a statement on Friday. "With successful, passionate performances we have the chance to inspire an entire country. The two wins against France and the Netherlands in March really touched me."

Nagelsmann was appointed as the boss of Germany in September 2023 after he was fired by Bayern in the middle of the 2022-23 season to make way for Tuchel. It took Tuchel and the club less than a season to fall out with each other. Bayern have already lost the 2023-24 Bundesliga title to Leverkusen and they were eliminated early from the DFB-Pokal.

Fortunately for Nagelsmann, none of the above is his concern now and his major task to help Germany achieve acceptable results at this year's UEFA European Championship at home after two disappointing editions of the FIFA World Cup in 2018 and 2022.

"We want to play a successful home European Championship together and I'm really looking forward to it together with my coaching team Challenge of a World Cup," Nagelsmann said.

There were reports about Bayern being interested in hiring Zinedine Zidane as their new manager. It has been nearly three years since the French legend managed any team, but during his tenure at Real Madrid, Zidane led the club to win two La Liga titles and three Champions League trophies, becoming the first manager in history to win the prestigious European tournament back-to-back.

Nonetheless, ESPN reported on Friday that there has been no contact between Bayern and Zidane. He is on the club's list, but not in the top. Neither he is attracted to the job because he doesn't speak German or English fluently.

Meanwhile, Tuchel confirmed that he won't change his mind on leaving Bayern. "I've an agreement with the club to part ways in June; it has been communicated, and it stands," the manager said at a press conference on Friday.
