In the bustling world of filmmaking, Lucy Tung stands as a trailblazer, breaking stereotypes and forging new paths as a female director of photography (DP).
CGTN reporter Liu Xiaoxian sat down with Tung during the 14th Beijing International Film Festival. Reflecting on her experiences, Tung shared insights into her remarkable career. In a male-dominated field, the notion of a female cinematographer was met with skepticism and doubt. Yet, undeterred, Tung persevered, honing her skills, strengthening her body and paving the way for aspiring filmmakers.
She said as a woman, there are barely female role models she can follow in the field of cinematography. But she would like to become one for those younger female filmmakers.
