Europe endured a record number of "extreme heat stress" days in 2023, two major climate monitors said Monday, as they warned of rising deaths on the continent from increasingly scorching summers.
"2023 reached a record number of days with 'extreme heat stress,' which is equivalent to a 'feels like' temperature of more than 46 degrees Celsius," the EU's Copernicus Climate Change Service and the World Meteorological Organization said in a new report.
