A total of 3.03 million new urban jobs were created in China in the first quarter of 2024, according to data released by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security on Tuesday.

The surveyed urban unemployment rate on average in China stood at 5.2 percent in March, an official for the ministry said at a news briefing, adding that the overall employment situation remains stable.
