Armenia and Azerbaijan announced Tuesday they had started fixing their shared border as part of normalization efforts between the two countries, which had been locked in a decades-long territorial conflict.
Azerbaijan's Interior Ministry said expert groups are conducting "clarification of coordinates based on geodesic study of the terrain," while Armenia's Interior Ministry ruled out "the transfer of any parts of Armenia's sovereign territory" to Baku as a result of the delimitation.
Last week, Armenia agreed to return several villages to Azerbaijan, which both sides said was an important milestone as they edged towards a peace deal.
