A spokesman for the Chinese Embassy in Japan on Wednesday called for strengthening international supervision over Japan's crippled Fukushima Daiichi nuclear-contaminated wastewater discharge, after the ocean discharge of wastewater was halted before noon on Wednesday due to a power outage.
China once again urged Japan to responsibly handle the disposal of its nuclear-contaminated waters and cooperate in establishing a comprehensive, effective and independently driven long-term international monitoring mechanism involving all relevant stakeholders, said the spokesperson.
