Public interacts with navy members on PLA Navy Day

00:47

An open day event celebrating the 75th anniversary of the founding of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) Navy was held on Tuesday in Dalian City, northeast China's Liaoning Province, to give the public opportunities for personal interactions with navy vessel and service personnel.

Qiqihar, a type 052D guided-missile destroyer, received thousands of visitors. Commissioned in 2020, Qiqihar has multi-mission offensive and defensive capabilities.

The PLA Navy Open Day is an opportunity for visitors to better understand how the navy accomplishes its missions and gain insights into maritime culture and practices, such as knots and flag codes.
