A national short video base, built by China Media Group (CMG) and the government of east China's Zhejiang Province, was announced on Friday, accompanied by content plans for high-quality video products.

The base, located in the provincial capital Hangzhou, will employ innovative media channels like short video, e-commerce and esports to further develop China's national media outlets.

It will also be equipped with the latest artificial intelligence (AI) tools to boost video-making capabilities.

The content plans involve user-generated content contests and drama script collection events, among others.

CMG President Shen Haixiong attended the opening ceremony with other guests.
