Harvard students protest over Israel's war with Hamas

02:06

Student protests over Israel's war with Hamas have emerged at Harvard University and an increasing number of other U.S. college campuses following last week's arrest of more than 100 demonstrators at Columbia University.

Students are calling for universities to distance themselves from companies that are advancing Israel's military efforts in Gaza—and, in some cases, from Israel itself. Harvard University is choosing not to take immediate action against protesters who had set up tents. Protests on many campuses, such as the University of California, George Washington University, the University of Minnesota, and the University of Texas at Austin, have been orchestrated by coalitions of student groups.
