The China Wildlife Conservation Association (CWCA) and the San Diego Zoo in the United States recently signed a giant panda conservation agreement, with a pair of giant pandas selected for a 10-year international conservation cooperation project.
To protect the well-being of giant pandas in the U.S., experts from CWCA visited the San Diego Zoo in March for in-depth discussions and technical exchanges on panda care, living conditions and health requirements.

According to a release from the National Forestry and Grassland Administration, the Chinese side has chosen giant pandas "Yunchuan" (male) and "Xinbao" (female) from the China Conservation and Research Center for the Giant Panda, as well as experienced keepers and veterinarians to accompany the two pandas to the U.S.
San Diego Zoo is now remodeling and improving its panda facilities to create a larger and more comfortable living habitat. Furthermore, the zoo has recruited skilled staff members with experience in panda care, daily nursing and associated scientific research obtained through study and exchange programs in China.
