Eric Domb, founder of Pairi Daiza Zoo in Belgium, received a letter of reply from Chinese President Xi Jinping in June 2023. In the letter, the Chinese President expressed his delight at the fact that the zoo's two giant pandas had given birth to three cubs, and that the panda family was thriving. As of the end of 2023, a total of 56 giant pandas were residing outside China. They have garnered a legion of overseas fans as the symbols of coexistence in harmony between human and nature.
