Once a stopover on the southern Silk Road, Dehong in southwest China's Yunnan boasts a rich history and culture. Visitors can enjoy the famous Water-Splashing Festival here and discover local ethnic customs. Dehong has pleasant weather throughout the year, so tourists can stroll through its bamboo forests, admire the sea of clouds atop mountains, and observe rare plants and animals up close in its dense jungles.
