Togo kicked off legislative elections Monday, with over 2,300 candidates vying for 113 seats of National Assembly, alongside its first-ever regional elections.
According to Togo's Independent National Electoral Commission, approximately 4.2 million registered voters will participate in the elections, which commenced at 7:00 a.m. local time (0700 GMT).
The ballot counting will begin immediately after polling ends, with results expected to be announced within six days, the commission added.
