Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) won their 10th Ligue 1 title in the past 13 seasons with three games to go of the 2023-24 campaign after AS Monaco lost to Olympique Lyonnais 3-2 at Parc Olympique Lyonnais on Sunday.

PSG led by 11 points over Monaco before the weekend. They were held 3-3 by Le Havre at the Parc des Princes on Saturday. They would need Monaco to finish winless against Lyon on the road. Malick Fofana's goal in the 84th minute led Lyon to victory of the game and PSG to win the league.

PSG have been nothing but dominant in Ligue 1 since they were acquired by Qatar Sports Investments in 2011. They have extended their leader over Saint-Etienne in winning the French top league trophies to two (12-10).

"Winning the league is fantastic, but to win it for the 12th time is even more special for all of those connected to Paris Saint-Germain," the club's president Nasser Al-Khelaifi said. "Congratulations to all the players, to coach Enrique and his staff, to Luis Campos and his department, as well as all the members of the club. Since the beginning of the season, the team is so united. I don't forget the supporters, who have been extraordinary regardless of the result. We will celebrate this as a family and continue to work hard, match after match, until the last moment of the season."

PSG's ace, 25-year-old Kylian Mbappe, didn't score in the draw against Le Havre, but that was unlikely to keep him from finishing the season as the Ligue 1 top scorer after netting 26 times in 31 appearances. When he wins the golden boot award, he will surpass Carlos Bianchi, Delio Onnis and Jean-Pierre Papin by doing it for record six seasons.

Mbappe has scored 255 goals for PSG in all competitions, more than Roger Courtois (253 for Sochaux) and the most for one single club in the top flight. He is likely to join Real Madrid after this season, but before that, he still has the chance to help PSG win the treble of Ligue 1, Coupe de France and the UEFA Champions League.
