WEF Special: Saudi business leader hails China's development and bilateral ties

Jerry Inzerillo, Group CEO of Diriyah Gate Development Authority spoke highly of the latest progress of China's economic development and shared his expectations on growing bilateral ties between China and Saudi Arabia, on the sideline of the World Economic Forum Special Meeting on Global Collaboration, Growth and Energy for Development held in Riyadh.

Noting China's success in hosting major events like the Olympics, Inzerillo in an interview on Sunday highlighted areas where China has played an important role, including engineering, training and construction.

"Construction, airports, infrastructure, almost in every discipline we look to our friends in China to help us," he said, listing sectors such as mining, agriculture, tourism and cultural heritage.

The Saudi business leader also expressed his expectation on China-Saudi cultural exchanges.

"China is one of the deepest richest cultural heritage countries in the world and Chinese people themselves respect their culture," he said, "We have so much to learn from China, so we are importing a lot of Chinese culture here to show in Saudi Arabia and we are importing Saudi culture to show in China."

"The relationship between Saudi and China has never been stronger," Inzerillo stressed, "It is one of our most important relationships."

The World Economic Forum Special Meeting on Global Collaboration, Growth, and Energy for Development begun on Sunday in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, uniting key global stakeholders to tackle shared challenges. With 1,000 global leaders, the two-day meeting aims to strengthen international cooperation through dialogue on global collaboration, sustainable growth, and the global energy transition.
