When Serbia was in the throes of the COVID-19 pandemic, it turned to China for help. And China did not let its old friend down, dispatching a plane with a well-equipped medical team on board. Serbia's president, Aleksandar Vučić, has talked about the two countries' "iron-clad friendship". He has also commented on how proud he is to have had the chance to speak to Chinese president, Xi Jinping, on several occasions, saying, "I'll be able one day to write a book about our meetings."
