China urges the Philippine side to immediately stop provocative actions that infringe on China's rights and not to challenge China's firm determination to safeguard sovereignty, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian said on Tuesday.

Lin made the remarks at a regular press briefing when asked about the Chinese Coast Guard's expulsion against two Philippine vessels after they intruded waters adjacent to Huangyan Dao in the South China Sea.
