China sees record high trips on first day of May Day holiday

A estimated record high of 280 million passenger trips were made on the first day of the May Day holiday in China, according to data from the Ministry of Transport.

Cross-regional trips via highways, waterways and airways are estimated to have exceeded 257 million, 900,000 and 2.11 million, respectively. The railway passenger traffic volume is expected to have reached 20.4 million trips.
