The Zhangs have spent centuries cultivating the art of tangsancai, or Tang Dynasty Tri-glazed Ceramics, and now the youngest generation of the family are taking it to new heights. Their old house, decorated with pottery horses throughout, feels more like a museum than a home. In ancient Chinese culture, the horse was a symbol of endurance, loyalty and strength, and as such it was a central theme in tangsancai.
