Zhouzhi County in Xi'an, capital of northwest China's Shaanxi Province, has a rich cultural heritage. It is home to the millennia-old Louguantai Temple, the monastery where ancient Chinese philosopher Laozi is said to have written "Daodejing," the important classic of Taoism.
Zhouzhi also has the world's largest kiwifruit production base and the largest botanical garden in terms of planned area, the Qinling National Botanical Garden. The world's only captive brown giant panda, Qi Zai, also resides in Zhouzhi.
