China launched the Chang'e-6 lunar probe on Friday to collect the first ever lunar samples from the far side of the moon.
The probe, atop a Long March-5 Y8 carrier rocket, blasted off at 5:27 p.m. Beijing Time from the Wenchang Spacecraft Launch Site in south China's Hainan Province, marking the start of its mission that will last about 53 days.
