The death toll from ongoing deadly storms in southern Brazil's Rio Grande do Sul state has risen to 31, local authorities said on Friday.

The storms, which have caused the greatest devastation in the state in recent years, also left 74 people missing and 24,000 displaced, according to local authorities.
