Data released by the delivery platform Meituan on eating, drinking, and entertainment shows consumption of these services rose by 25 percent year on year across China over the first three days of the holiday. Dine-in orders increased 73 percent compared to the same period last year. Multiple online travel platforms are reporting a surge in tourism during this year's holiday, surpassing pre-pandemic levels for the same period in 2019. Lesser-known destinations and county-level places have also emerged as popular choices, alongside traditional tourist spots and outbound travel.
