Solar term Lixia, Start of Summer, kicks off in China

CGTN

00:10

Lixia, or the Start of Summer, is the seventh of the 24 solar terms on the Chinese lunar calendar. It began on May 5 this year. As the daylight gets longer and the temperatures rise with more frequent rainfall, plants grow prosperously, frogs croak and earthworms loosen the soil. As the name implies, the solar term marks the transition from warm spring to summer. Have a look at how Lixia is written in Chinese.
