Not all the Roman emperors were born in Italy. In fact, some historians believe that at least 17 Roman emperors were born in Serbia, including Constantine the Great. He was born in Niš, today the third largest city in Serbia. Serbia also boasts numerous castles and ruins from the ancient Roman civilization, attracting crowds of tourists every year.

The Vrelo River in Serbia is only 365 meters long and is probably one of the shortest rivers in the world. Because its length is the same number of meters as days in a year, many people refer to it as the "Godina" (Serbian for "year") and claim that the river is one year long.
