'The Classic Quotes by Xi Jinping' starts airing in Serbia

"The Classic Quotes by Xi Jinping," a multilingual TV show produced by China Media Group (CMG), started airing in Serbia on Wednesday as Chinese President Xi Jinping arrived in Belgrade, the capital of Serbia, to kick off his state visit.

A ceremony was held in Belgrade on Tuesday to celebrate the airing of the TV program, with Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic commending the broadcast in a video message. 

Vucic warmly welcomed President Xi in the video and expressed appreciation for CMG's efforts in boosting Serbia-China friendship. He said that he is looking forward to more exchanges in the future, which will push the ironclad friendship between Serbia and China to a new level.

The TV show, which selects words from ancient Chinese works and classics quoted by Xi, together with interviews and on-site scenes, showcases the Chinese president's profound commitment to the well-being of his people and displays a multifaceted China. 

Aleksandar Vulin, deputy prime minister of Serbia, delivered a speech at the ceremony. He said the show exhibited Chinese philosophy and explored the achievements of Chinese modernization, which is very inspiring. He added that the show will help enhance the mutual understanding and friendship between the peoples of the two countries.

Shen Haixiong, president of CMG, said CMG is committed to promoting cultural exchanges and people-to-people exchanges between the two countries. It's believed that the show will help Serbian people understand Xi Jinping's wisdom in governance, as well as the allure of China in the new era. 

He added that CMG will keep producing more high-quality programs to strengthen communication and boost the China-Serbia friendship.

Nikola Selakovic, Serbian culture minister; Vladimir Orlic, former National Assembly speaker; and Dragan Bujosevic, director general of Radio Television of Serbia, as well as Chinese Ambassador to Serbia Li Ming also praised the airing of the TV program, saying it will boost cultural and people-to-people exchanges, consolidate friendship and create new opportunities for cooperation.
