Chinese President Xi Jinping arrived on a state visit to Hungary on May 8 at the invitation of Hungarian President Tamas Sulyok and Prime Minister Viktor Orban.

Located in central Europe, Hungary covers an area of 93,023 square kilometers and has a population of about 9.6 million. It's historically known for blending Eastern and Western cultures. Hungarian capital Budapest is known as the "Pearl of the Danube."

Diplomatic relations between China and Hungary date back to 1949. The ties were elevated to a comprehensive strategic partnership in 2017. Hungary became the first European country to sign a Belt and Road cooperation document with China, reflecting its strong commitment to friendly ties with China.

The 75th anniversary of their diplomatic relations signifies new opportunities for collaboration and growth.
