Chinese President Xi Jinping is visiting France, Serbia and Hungary from May 5 to 10, his first trip to Europe in nearly five years. The trip is of great significance to the overall development of China-Europe relations and will inject new impetus into world peace and development. CGTN interviewed experts and residents in neighboring countries, such as the UK, Italy, and Bulgaria, about the significance of the Chinese president's visit to Europe.
In Italy, Silvia Menegazzi, an assistant professor at Luiss Guido Carli University, believes that the three countries visited by President Xi have important strategic significance for China-Europe relations. Some students also shared with CGTN that China has brought development opportunities to Italy and said they look forward to strengthening cooperation between the two countries in the fashion industry, innovative sector and other fields in the future.
