May 12 is Mother's Day, and flower sales are booming across China. In Taiyuan, the capital of north China's Shanxi Province, florists prepare carnations, lilies and roses. One florist said the shop has been selling around 100 bunches a day. A peony planting base on the outskirts of Changzhi City has entered the blooming season. Farmers are busy picking the flowers to meet soaring demand ahead of Mother's Day.
