Flowers, cards or gifts – what are you going to get your mom for Mother's Day this year? Or maybe you have your own creative idea for this special day? Internationally, Mother's Day is celebrated at different times of the year with different traditions.

In China, this year's celebration falls on May 12. People buy daylilies, carnations and cakes for their mothers and enjoy a special dinner with the family. In Indonesia, children wash and kiss their mother's feet to show their heartfelt gratitude and love. In Ethiopia, mothers are celebrated during Antrosht, a three-day festival held at the end of the rainy season in early autumn. Family members gather together to enjoy a delicious meal and celebrate the special occasion with singing and dancing.
