A look at the modernization project connecting Budapest and Hungary

02:53

Hungary was the first European country to sign a Belt and Road Initiative cooperation agreement in 2015.

The Hungary-Serbia high-speed railway, also known as the Budapest-Belgrade railway, is a flagship project of the partnership. The length of the double-track electrified railway is 341.7 kilometers.

Serbia runs a little more than 50 percent and Hungary has the rest. While parts of the high-speed railway are up and running in Serbia, the Hungarian section is still under construction. Reporter Cen Ziyuan visits the town of Taksony to learn more about the progress on the Hungarian side.
