Wood carvings are universally used in the decoration of Huizhou architecture. With their fine carvings, the ancient dwellings of Hongcun Village have been like a playground for Wang Dehong since childhood. And like many of his fellow villagers, Wang took up wood carving at an early age. He has now been engaged in this business for over 40 years.
