Expert: The Philippines' activities in South China Sea violate DOC

"What the Philippines has been doing in the past years is not only trying to change the status quo on Ren'ai Jiao, but also they're trying to occupy uninhabited features such as Tiexian Jiao and trying to change the status quo, which directly and 100 percent violates Article 5 of self-restraint of the Declaration on the Conduct of Parties in the South China Sea (DOC)," Yan Yan, director of the Research Center for Oceans Law and Policy at the National Institute for South China Sea Studies, said in an interview with CGTN.
