To better protect the unique ecosystems in the mountainous areas, a list of national parks has been created in China and France. They were also established to help promote the scientific exploitation and utilization of natural resources, including the tourism resources.
Established in 2021, Wuyishan National Park in China covers an area of nearly 1,300 square kilometers spanning Jiangxi and Fujian provinces. As one of the outstanding areas for biodiversity conservation and a refuge for many ancient relics, Wuyi Mountain was inscribed on the list of UNESCO World Natural and Cultural Heritage in 1999.
Located in the mountainous region of southeastern France, the Ecrins National Park covers an area of over 900 square kilometers. Created in 1973, the park is known for the diversity of its ecological conditions. With its highest mountain reaching 4,102 meters, the park is dotted with peaks, glaciers, alpine pastures, rivers and lakes, making it a perfect destination for hikers and climbers.
